At the request of Tony Armstrong, Malakoff Diving Services attended the vessel MT29 at the Tug Jetty in Sellaness, Shetland Islands. The dive team carried out an in water hull inspection under the direction of the vessels class surveyor. The scope of the works was agreed by Tony Armstrong of BV.

 

The work scope included:

  • Inspection of bow, keel plating and forefoot for visible signs of defects and indentations

  • Inspection of stern plating, keel and stern frame for visible signs of defects and indentations

  • Complete inspection of underwater shell plating for visible signs of defects and indentations

  • Inspection of Sonar and Echo sounder for visible defects

  • Inspection of Azimuth and tunnel thruster propellers, boss, blades and sealing system where visible

  • Inspection of bilge keels for damage/fractures

  • Inspection of condition of protective coatings and marine growth
