Our History

Malakoff’s long history, can be traced back to the very early 1900’s and may even have earlier roots as an active trading company specialising in marine oriented activities, mainly on the Shetland Islands.
The current owners - who acquired the company in 2003 as part of a management buyout from its previous shareholders, Malakoff and William Moore Ltd, who in turn had been the previous generation owners from a period commencing around 1972 - continue to expand and develop the company in any direction where a marine oriented thread can be established.
